Why Give Back?
As Christ Followers, we believe that we are stewards of God’s resources because He is the owner of all we have. Throughout Scripture, we are reminded of the importance of generosity. The Bible tells us that giving is an act of worship and should be done with a spirit of thanksgiving. God gave the most generous gift of all time by sending his Son Jesus to die on the cross so that we could be reconciled to God. We now have the opportunity though his church to partner with him so that those who are far from Christ may come to know him.
We give as an act of worship and thankfulness for the grace God has shown us through Christ.
“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:7
How to Give Back?
At Northwest, there are several ways you can give to God’s work through your time, your talent, your tithes and your offerings.
- Time & Talent
As thebody of Christ we have the opportunity to give some of our most valuable resources our time and talent. At Northwest there are many chances to volunteer throughout the week and on Sunday mornings by helping set up, tear down, using your creative, musical or technical abilities.
“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized byone Spirit so as to form one body whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.” 1 Corinthians 12:12-14
There are several ways you can give to God, financially. You can give on Sunday Mornings, you can mail a check, you can set up an automatic bank draft, and you can even give online. See our mailing address below, as well as links to our bank draft form and online giving.
Northwest utilizes Paypal for all of our online transactions. Individuals wishing to give online are able to do so regardless of whether or not they have a personal Paypal account. For individuals who would prefer to use an auto-tithe feature, we recommend you fill out the Automatic Bank Draft Authorization Form. If at any point in the process you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. And by the way…we strongly suggest that no one use a credit card unless it is paid off every month. We do not wish to see our congregation go into debt by using a credit card.
