PAPUA NEW GUINEA
In January 2014, BJ and Jill Sanders and their 3 small children moved to Papua New Guinea to begin learning the national language and studying the culture. After building their homes from the ground up, the Sanders, along with 2 other families, moved into the Wantakia people group in April 2015. They are now in the process of learning the local dialect so that they can one day plant a church in the Wantakia tribe.
To stay up to date with the work in Wantakia, check out www.reachwantakia.com or go like their Facebook page, “Reach Wantakia.”
Here is how you can get involved:
- Pray for the name of Jesus to become famous all over the world! James 5:16 says, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
- If you would like to give to these missionaries, donate to New Tribes through BJ’s website.
- All gifts are tax deductible
- In October 2018, we are going back to PNG! We will be leading about 80 different missionaries from all around PNG on a week long retreat. This will include worship and teaching for adults, kids, and teenagers. If you are interested in going, let us know!
Have you met the Jaworskis at Northwest Community Church? They are an awesome couple and God is doing awesome things in their lives. They recently spent 3 months in Burkina Faso working with an organization called “Sheltering Wings.” We spent some time interviewing them a while back. Click the link below to hear about what God did during their time in Burkina.
“How can I participate?”
Please pray for Sheltering Wings and the people they interact with in Burkina Faso. There are many people who don’t know Jesus there. Pray that Sheltering Wings can be a light in a dark place.

Did you know Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world, and is only 16% Christian? Northwest Community Church partners with Stephen and Autumn Byxbe in Haiti to serve the people of Delice, Haiti. We go to Haiti once a year to try and support the Byxbes and the local church in Haiti. The Byxbes are the directors of The Agape House orphanage there and have been serving in Haiti since the earthquake in 2010.
“How can I participate?”
Please pray for Stephen and Autumn as they are in the process of moving to Delice right now. They are building a new orphanage in the mountains from the ground up, so they need your prayers!
